South African star Dale Campbell is to play a second season for Hucknall, the club has announced.

Wicketkeeper/batsman Campbell (27), who has played ten first-class games in his home country, made a massive impression during his debut summer for the New Gatehouse Ground outfit in 2014.

In Division A of the Gunn And Moore South Notts League (SNL), he amassed 712 runs at an average of 59.33 to finish fifth in the league’s batting charts. And in all league games (Saturday and Sunday cricket), he became only the third player to top 1,000 runs in a season for the club since they moved to their Hayden Lane venue -- after Anthony Timpson and the current captain, Robin Maxwell.

Now the Springbok’s signature for a second season is sure to boost Hucknall’s hopes of winning promotion to the Notts Premier League. They missed out by only eight points last term, finishing second in the SNL’s top flight, and by only 20 points in 2013, finishing third. They open the 2015 campaign on 2nd May with a home match against Notts Unity Casuals.
