THE SUNDAY football season kicks off this weekend with local sides set to provide the backbone of the line-up in the Premier Premier Division of the Notts Sunday Morning League (NSML).
New boys Green Dragon, who were promoted last term from Premier Division One under grandma Norma Hatfield, launch their campaign away at Old Colonial.
Plough Barflies, who finished second from bottom, start at home to Gedling Inn, while T8s, who finish third, take on last year’s wooden spoon outfit, Trowsers.
Station Hotel will have to wait a week before they get out of the traps on September 9 in Premier One.
But in Premier Two, there is another three-pronged attack on the league.
Empire Villa start against Edwalton at Rolls-Royce in Hucknall, Premiere Travel, who were runners-up last term, are up against Crowne Inn at their Titchfield Park home, while The Masons are ready to roll at the Nabbs Lane recreation ground against Burton Joyce A.
In Senior Division Two, Nabb Inn are chomping at the bit but do not get their season underway until a week on Sunday.
The Notts Sunday Combination also gets started this weekend with AFC Rolls-Royce the only interest in Division One.
