THE REMAINING unbeaten sides in the HUCKNALL EPA POOL LEAGUE — Royal British Legion B and Spot-On Low C — kept their noses in front of the pack with wins in the latest round of fixtures.

Leaders Legion made it five victories from their opening six outings with a comfortably 6-2 win over Yew Tree, who have yet to taste success this term.

For Legion, both Dean Dymock and Malc Grocock chalked up singles and pairs doubles.

Spot On are two points behind but with a game in hand and matched their closest rivals with a 6-2 triumph of their own over Royal British Legion A.

Both Dean Britton and Ryan Norris won on singles and pairs for Spot, who are determined to regain the title they won in 2010/11.

Elsewhere, a final-frame win from Steve Wood spared the blushes of Empire as they scraped a 4-4 draw with strugglers Chequers.

Green Dragon secured their first win of the season — 5-3 at The Harrier. The victory came courtesy of two wins in the final three frames.

Flying Bedstead and Bestwood Village Social Club couldn’t be separated as they shared a 4-4 draw and in the final clash of the week, Little John took the spoils with a 5-3 eclipse of Station Hotel (Hucknall) B.

Teams are reminded that the league meetings has been brought forward to this Sunday (Station Hotel, Hucknall, 11 am) to avoid a clash with Remembrance Sunday.
