HUCKNALL Town AFC’s youngsters put in another performance full of positives for the future produced a result which greatly flattered their opponents as Belper United ran out 5-1 winners in the CMFL South.

The opener came on five minutes when Adam Moran’s error was capitalised on by Belper’s striker who beat debutant keeper Michael Morrell.

Town responded positively and equalised through Joshua Muschett on his full debut, only for a soft second from Belper with an unmarked back post header.

The rest of the half was all Town as they pressed and probed but unlike Belper’s clinical finish with their two chances Town’s went begging.

The second-half again saw Town take the game to Belper and the equaliser looked on the cards until disaster struck when a short pass from Jeremy Moran was intercepted just inside Town’s half and the ball was quickly again played forward with the Belper striker finishing well.

In trying to push forward gaps were inevitably left which Belper took advantage of to score two more that gave the final scoreline a false reflection of the game as an whole.
