Veteran former Hucknall runner Kevin Archer has added another prestigious title to his roll of honour.
British Masters champion Archer landed the inaugural South Of England Masters 1500m title in the 55-to-59 age-group.
Running at the Lee Valley complex in north London, Archer clocked a time of four minutes, 46.95 seconds, which was enough to prevail by three-hundredths of a second from Mike Hager, of Tipton Harriers, who is a world indoor 3,000m and cross-country champion.
Archer also finished third in the 800m and now hopes to contest the British Masters Indoor Championships at the same venue this weekend.
Things will be tougher, though, because he is likely to be the oldest in his age group.
