THE PROUD Hucknall Warriors outfit have been crowned ‘Club Of The Year’ by the Young Elizabethan League.

Representatives from the Go-ahead Warriors were presented with the prestigious prize at the City Ground, home of Championship club Nottingham Forest.

It came as recognition for a wonderful campaign for the club last season that yielded a host of silverware for all five of the Warriors teams.

But the Warriors set-up goes far beyond success on the pitch as club chairman Paul Burley explained:

“We focus so much on trying to run this club properly, from financial management to communication via the website and social media to the players’ well-being and developing them not just as footballers, but as individuals as well.

“Social skills, discipline and teamwork are part of what a player gets from being part of the Warriors.

“While the award recognises us as a well-run club, it goes without saying thet the coaches, committee members, website administrators, welfare officers and parents have all contibuted and I would like to thank them all.”
