Some extraordinary hitting by Alex Hales helped Notts Outlaws launch their NatWest T20 Blast campaign with a convincing eight-wicket victory over Birmingham Bears at Trent Bridge.

The England one-day international was in irresistible form as he raced to an unbeaten 86 from only 43 balls, with six of his eight sixes coming off consecutive deliveries, spanning two overs.

As the Outlaws chased the Bears’ modest total of 141-7, Hales shared a quickfire opening stand of 42 with Rikki Wessels, who blasted 30. And then the Birmingham side had no answer to the 26-year-old’s one-man onslaught.

Earlier, Luke Fletcher, who hails from Bulwell and learned his trade with Papplewick anhd Linby CC, had taken three wickets with the ball to underline how deadly he is in T20 cricket.

Hales has now left Trent Bridge for a while to play for Mumbai Indians as part of a short-term deal in the Indian Premier League. But you can see his Outlaws teammates by winning tickets for their T20 Blast match at home to Durham Jets on Sunday 31st May (1.30 pm start) in our competition.

The Notts boys will be hoping to claim another spectacular win -- and we have five pairs of tickets up for grabs to watch this game. All you have to do to enter is correctly answer the following question;
