Yellows’ basement battle called off

FRUSTRATED Hucknall Town’s crunch clash with relegation rivals Ossett Town fell victim to the cold weather last Saturday (February 19).

A couple of inches of snow in Yorkshire caused the game’s postponement and meant The Yellows missed a chance to try and pull away from the drop zone in the Evo-Stik League, Premier Division.

The Yellows, who are yet to register a league win in 2011, were hopeful of getting all three points at Ossett, who are second from bottom in the table.

But a pitch inspection at 9.45 am on Saturday scotched those aspirations.

The game will now take place on Tuesday April 5 (7.45 pm kick-off).

Hucknall are next in league action when Chasetown visit Watnall Road on Tuesday (February 22, kick-off 7.45 pm).
