The revival at Hucknall’s ST GEORGE AMATEUR BOXING CLUB continued at a show in Forest Town, Mansfield.

For three of their young boxers recorded impressive victories at the show, which was staged by Huthwaite ABC.

Brendan McCormack (12), who lives in The Meadows, enjoyed a debut fight to remember against Sonney Steele.

Controlling the fight from start to finish, Brendan threw some cracking body-shots, showing terrific power and control.

Also having his first bout for St George was 14-year-old Saab Alvi, from Top Valley, who boxed Daniel Leacock.

As the taller of the two fighters, Saab used his jab and fine footwork to keep Leacock on the backfoot and bagged a well-deserved win.

The Hucknall club’s treble was completed by 12-year-old Georgios Charalambous, from Arnold, who defeated Archie Alton, of Newark ABC, in his fifth contest.

Georgios came out flying and kept his opponent at bay by using his superior strength and picking the cleaner shots. Both lads gave their all but the St George boxer got the verdict.

Also on the Forest Town bill was 21-year-old Jordan Bradley, who lives in Calverton.

In a hard-fought contest, Bradley lost narrowly on points against Andrew Barraclough, of Scunthorpe Imps ABC. But club coach Clinton McPhilbin says he is sure to pick himself up for his next fight, which is scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday).
