Young Town defender defects to Rainworth

YOUNG centre-back Romaine Graham (pictured) has become the latest player to leave new-look Hucknall Town.

Graham (22), who joined the club during the summer, has been snapped up by Nottinghamshire rivals Rainworth Miners Welfare, who also play in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, Division One South.

The former Notts County man was a regular in the middle of Town’s back four at the start of the season. But soon after Des Lyttle arrived as boss in October, he lost his place and was farmed out on loan to Dunkirk in the Midland Alliance.

Graham’s exit is further evidence that the Yellows team pieced together by previous boss Tommy Brookbanks is slowly being dismantled. Other players to leave since Brookbanks quit include Nathan Watson, James Jepson, Wayne Diuk, Nick Ghislanzoni, Carl Westcarr and Joe Pheasant, while Jared Holmes has yet to play because of injury.
