Three teams share the leadership of the HUCKNALL WINTERS DOMINOES LEAGUE after a first defeat of the season for previous top dogs, Conny.
Conny had sailed to four straight victories in a flawless opening month of the new 2014/15 campaign. But they came a cropper on a visit to Empire Club, who thumped them 4-1.
Empire duly joined them in first place, along with Central Club, who defeated struggling Royal British Legion 3-2. The trio are separated only by leg-difference, with Central’s and Empire’s plus-three and Conny’s plus-one.
Only two points behind the leading three sides are Bentinck Club and George Street Club, who both enjoyed 3-2 wins. Bentinck just got the better of Station PH, while George Street returned home from summer league champions Shamrock with the spoils.
The night’s remaining fixture yielded an eyecatching outcome. For the defending winter league champions Bestwood Village Social Club became the first team this season to lose to bottom-of-the-table Sherwood Ranger. The visiting outfit danced all the way back to Ravenshead after pulling off a convincing 4-1 victory.
