Three teams could still win the HUCKNALL WINTER DOMINOES LEAGUE championship after last week’s round of matches.

Central Club hit the top of the table -- but only on alphabetical order ahead of George Street Club, whom they beat 3-2. With two fixtures to play, the rivals’ leg records (for 44, against 36) were identical.

Two points behind sat third-placed Shamrock, who still had a squeak of pinching the title. But they did their hopes no good by falling to a shock 3-2 defeat against bottom-of-the-table Station PH.

That result left Station with a chance of avoiding the wooden spoon, although fellow strugglers Sherwood Ranger also won -- 3-2 away to Royal British Legion. The week’s other matches saw Bentinck Club beat Empire 3-2 and Bestwood VSC win 4-1 at Conny.
