Film festival to hit the heights

The international Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour has returning to the UK and Ireland for the first half of 2015.

The festival will bring inspiration and big screen adventure to The Grand Pavilion at Matlock Bath, on May 6.

This year’s tour features some of the UK’s most talented adventurers, athletes and film makers, such as the star of The Ridge Danny MacAskill, from Scotland, and Yorkshireman Rob Jarman in All My Own Stunts.

Into The Empty Quarter follows the amazing journey of British adventurers Alastair Humphreys and Leon McCarron, and the inspirational story of Tashi And the Monk is brought to the big screen by film makers Andrew Hinton and Johnny Burke.

The festival showcases a diverse collection of the best and latest films from the global mountain sports community. The two and a half hour programme has been selected from over 370 films which were entered into the prestigious prestigious Banff Mountain Film Festival, held in the Canadian Rockies in November 2014.

The tour brings together people with a wide range of outdoor passions who return every year to enjoy the fantastic community feeling of a Banff screening.
