Ashfields will be headlining a gig at Bodega in Nottingham on Saturday, January 9.
The indie pop band’s members hail from the Mansfield area and, as well as looking forward to this prestigious date at the city centre venue, are releasing their latest EP.
Ashfields have recently been signed to a local record label Electric Bear Records and are working very closely with DHP and other important figures in the Nottingham music industry.
The band formed in March 2014 and is made up of Louis Devonshire (lead vocals), Carl Kynaston (guitar and backing vocals), Thomas Cotterill (guitar and backing vocals), Josh Pickering (bass guitar) and Jak Garratt (drums).
Ashfields released their first live EP in June 2014 and finished third in Q Magazines’ Richer Unsigned Indie Chart in October. They then played The Royal Concert Hall in February.
Other recent highlights include performing on BBC Introducing on the release of their demo Never End, giving a personal interview to Dean Jackson and then gaining another showing for latest single The Wild.
Louis Devonshire from the band said: “We working with DHP and Electric Bear Records on the releasing of our newest EP (My Home Town) on January 8 for digital copies and January 9 for physical copies. We feel music is a very important thing, especially in our generation and the time that we live in and that music is a budding industry and music has the ability to inspire another to change the mind of thousands.”
