Muse, a new evening of spoken word and poetry at the Barley Mow, Bonsall is to be launched later this month and the call has gone out to writers and performers across the county.

On the third Thursday of every month, poet and performer Mark Gwynne Jones (pictured) will host what promises to be an exciting mix of comedy, tragedy and iridescent ideas from voices past and present.

In the form of a Dead Poet’s Jukebox, writers are invited to share a favourite piece of their own work alongside something they find pertinent, poignant or inspiring from a past writer.

The evening is open to everyone, there is no entry fee and those wishing to read or perform just sign up on the night. In total, floor slots are limited to five minutes per reader, including the reader’s contribution to the Dead Poets’ Jukebox.

Bring a poem, bring a song, a favourite book or just drink, heckle or muse.

Muse will launch on Thursday, January 21, at 8pm at the Barley Mow, Bonsall, DE4 2AY. For more information, please visit www.markgwynnejones.com or call 0794 144 6399.
