Christmas is a time for dreams to come true but Mansfield’s Palace Theatre will be the scene of a nightmare this Yuletide season.
For this year’s annual panto is Sleeping Beauty - and a star-studded comedy cast will is set to make sure the whole family laughs and cries together.
And Coronation Street’s Vicky Entwistle is sure to scare the pants off audiences as bad fairy Carabosse during the show’s five-week residency.
“Carabosse has a huge chip on her shoulder and is extremely vain,” said Vicky.
“She is a bitter, twisted type who thinks she should have been a model and blames Princess Briar Rose for everything.
“I much prefer playing the villain and I have to bite my lip sometimes because it does make you laugh.”
Carabosse’s unfortunate victim is played by Milkshake’s Amy Thompson, while the Good Fairy is taken on by Hollyoaks’ Sarah-Jane Buckley (Kathy Barnes).
She said: “The production will bring fun, comedy and lots of singing.
“I love the fact that live theatre and panto are often the first time children get to visit the theatre.
“While at home they have TVs, tablets, and laptops to distract them, but at the theatre they get involve and interact.”
Sleeping Beauty plays every day during its Palace residency with varying matinees and evening performances between 29th November and 4th January.
