One of the Queen’s horses will be competing again this year at Bakewell Show, which is affectionately known as the ‘Little Royal’. The Irish Draught Tower Bridge will be ridden by Katie Jerram.

Champion animals, mammoth vegetables, vintage vehicles, a farmers’ market and the beach experience are among attractions at the show which runs on August 5 and 6.

The dogs section at Bakewell Show has regained its Premier Status with the Kennel Club which means that all Best of Breed winners automatically qualify for Crufts.

The section will again feature the ‘Talking Dogs’ workshops run by Kennel Club assessor Christina Chapman. The meet-and-greet sessions are designed to introduce people who are new to breeding and showing to the rules and etiquette of the dog world.
