Beat goes on at Flowerpot

Stone Roses fans are in for a treat when tribute act The Clone Roses return to The Flowerpot in Derby on Friday, November 13.

The band include all the classics in their set such as Waterfall, Made of Stone, This is the One and of course I am the Resurrection.

The Clones have been touring up and down the UK for over a decade, playing to sell-out crowds week in week out. The band’s attention to detail is admirable, from the clothes and instruments to the Manc swagger and stage mannerisms, while the musical and sonic accuracy of their performance is second to none.

Then, on Saturday, November 14, the King Street venue welcomes back ska/pop veterans The Beat.

The Beat present a wall of sound that transcends time and ska fusion rhythms to ignite a crowd. They play with the sole aim of connecting with and entertaining their appreciative audience with their relentless energy and world class musicianship.

The Beat are known the world over for a string of hit singles, including Mirror in the Bathroom, Too Nice To Talk To and Hands off She’s Mine. Their songs of peace, love and unity fuse ska, pop, reggae and punk rock and their dynamic live show has garnered them a loyal following at home and abroad.

The 2015 line-up features original frontman Ranking Roger and his son Ranking Junior on vocals. Support on the night comes from Ruby Jean Rose.

Finally, Thursday, November 19, is the date for a gig by Skinny Molly, with support from Derby rockers Thunderous Jones (Acoustic).

Currently touring Europe to promote their latest studio album Here For A Good Time, Skinny Molly features the former Lynyrd Skynyrd and Artimus Pyle Band guitarist Mike Estes.

Originally put together to do a one-off tour of Europe in 2004, Skinny Molly has, 11 years later, become one of the hardest working and popular rock bands out of the southern United States.

Doors open at 8pm for all three gigs. Admission is £12 for The Clone Roses, £16 for The Beat and £12 for Skinny Molly.

Advance tickets are available from The Flowerpot and RAW Promotions, as well as online at www.rawpromo.co.uk
