blues legend at flowerpot

The latest in the series of free Acoustic Wednesdays gigs at The Flowerpot in Derby takes place tonight (Wednesday, September 16).

Performing in the bar at the King Street venue from 9pm will be Jon Amor and Joel Fisk.

Jon Amor is a legend in the Devizes music scene, helping to put the town on the musical landscape back in the 90s after his band, The Hoax, managed to make an international success.

That band may be irregular tourers today, but Jon continues a strong presence with solo records and tours across this country and indeed further afield like Holland and Canada.

He will be joined by another exceptionally talented guitarist, Joel Fisk as they perform their duo set, currently touring the country.

For those familiar with Jon’s set, prepare to be introduced to an entirely new sound that only a second guitarist and melody can introduce.

Then on Friday, September 18, you can see a gig by The Bernie Marsden Band.

Bernie (pictured) is the legendary original Whitesnake original and co-writer of classic rock anthems such as Here I Go Again and Fool For Your Lovin’.

He is on tour with his own powerhouse band The Bernie Marsden Band.

Bernie has toured with his bands Company of Snakes and M3 (formed with fellow former Whitesnake members Micky Moody and Neil Murray).

He has also recorded and toured with a succession of acclaimed blues albums, featuring many successful guest artists, including Zak Starkey. Bernie has played with Ringo Starr’s band and has played with Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant at a number of benefit gigs.

Doors open for the Bernie Marsden Band gig at 8pm. Admission is £15. Tickets are available from The Flowerpot and RAW Promotions at www.rawpromo.co.uk
