Then, in the evening at the same venue, you can enjoy Bakewell Choral Society’s Christmas concert, starting at 7.30pm.

This Festive Evening of Christmas Words and Music will feature the choir, with conductor Alan Eost, accompanist Amanda Kornas, organist Keith Hodgson, plus Bakewell Bassoons.

Tickets are £8 (donation to Macmillan Cancer Support). There will be seasonal refreshments available. Students and accompanied children get in free.

n Looking a little further ahead, rehearsals start in early January for a performance of Bach’s St John Passion, to be held on March 14.
