Concert dates at Fretwell

Nottinghamshire County Council’s Performing Arts Team has organised two events in Mansfield as part of its spring programme.

The Advanced Music Ensemble and Choir present Hallelujah at the John Fretwell Centre on Friday while the Concert Band and Nottingham Symphonic Wind Orchestra are performing Majestic in March at the same venue on Saturday.

Hallelujah promises an evening of beautiful choral and classical instrumental music. Popular songs will be song and music from the shows played before the two groups unite to perform the Coldplay classic, Viva la Vida, and the spine-tingling Hallelujah (from Shrek).

Majestic in March is the third in a series of collaborative concerts between the NPA Concert Band and local adult wind ensembles.

Both bands will perform some well known and rousing pieces of music before they come together to play a medley from the master of Spaghetti Western themes, Ennio Morricone, and Symphonic Marches from the legendary John Williams.

Tickets for the concerts are available from the Notts Performing Arts office.

To book, telephone 0115 977 2782 to make a debit/credit card payment. Tickets are £5 adults with £3 for children and concessions.

Both concerts begin at 7.30pm.

Nottinghamshire County Council’s Notts Performing Arts team is led by Tracy James and offers exciting and high quality arts opportunities for young people aged 7-19 years old who want to develop their skills in performing arts.

Students take part in a choice of music, drama and dance workshops and rehearsal and a variety of performance opportunities.
