Exciting programme in DCO’s family festive concert

Derby Concert Orchestra’s annual Family Festive Concert is to take place at Derby Cathedral from 7pm on Saturday, December 12.

The exciting and varied programme, to be conducted by Jonathan Trout, features such popular classical pieces as Shostakovich’s Festive Overture, Grieg’s In The Hall Of The Mountain King, Mussorgsky’s Night On The Bare Mountain, Herold’s Clog Dance and Glinka’s Russlan and Ludmilla Overture, plus film music from Star Wars and Pirates Of The Caribbean.

There will also be the chance to a relatively new work - the Richard De Gilpin Fantasy Overture, a tuneful and attractive composition by British composer Ivor Hodgson.

In addition, you can enjoy some festive favourites and maybe sing a few carols too.
