The ensemble is an authentic swing big band which performs at theatres throughout the UK and has appeared three times to sell-out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, as well as performing for West End producers.

The band’s musicians are some of the top jazz and swing musicians in the country and include the former drummer from the Michael Parkinson Show band. The set list includes all the Glenn Miller favourites such as In The Mood, Little Brown Jug, American patrol and Moonlight Serenade as well as Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie and Harry James numbers.

The bandleader, Kevin Cunningham is a Barnsley-born musician who, after working for the likes of the Syd Lawrence and Nick Ross Orchestras had the idea to put together his own big band in 2005.

Four years later he moved to Mansfield after meeting his now wife and the band has been run from the town since then.

Tickets are priced at £10 and the band hopes to bring a little of the feel of 1945’s VE Day celebrations, plus some later Sinatra numbers.

Dancing is optional but encouraged.
