Hugely popular quartet are back in UK for appearance in Nottingham

The Piano Guys are to return to the UK for a short tour in June, including a date at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on June 10.

The Piano Guys began as an internet phenomenon: four Utah dads who created a series of strikingly original self-made music videos with a quirky-yet-virtuoso take on making classical music hip with a rock ‘n’ roll style.

With over 500 million views and 3.6 million subscribers of their YouTube videos, their staggering online popularity has resulted in four chart topping albums, and sold-out concerts around the world.

The history of the group began with Paul Anderson, who owned a piano shop in a small Utah town.

This is where successful solo pianist Jon Schmidt came in to practice. Eventually Paul and Jon collaborated with Al Van Der Beek and cellist Steve Sharp Nelson. A thriving team of songwriters, producers, editors, and musicians, together the four men created sensational hits broadcast on their YouTube channel and secured a record deal with Sony.

The first three major label albums each reached number one on the Billboard charts in the New Age Album and Classical Album categories.
