An intimate Manran gig

The bad news for this year’s Southwell Folk Festival is that Scottish folk band Manran will not be performing but the good news is they have been booked for an intimate gig in the town this month.

Manran, with their combination of Gaelic and English songs underpinned by driving Accordion, fiddle, flute and drum and bass, will be at Marquee at Rose Cottage on 31st March at 7.30pm.

A spokesman for organisers Rural Roots Music said: “We hope to secure their services for next year’s festival, but we could not pass up the opportunity to fill a very last minute gap in their busy schedule and present them in an intimate marquee house concert setting.”

Tickets are available by booking for £12 or for £14 on the door.
