Mansfield blues infused band debuts new album ahead of UK tour

A group of Mansfield rockers are calling on all music fans to discover what they call ‘the best kept secret in Rock n Roll’.

Blues infused rock band Starscreen released their new album earlier this month and want to shout about it.

The Mansfield group, formed of Daz McNevin (lead vocals), Neal Davis (lead guitar and backing vocals), Scott Price (bass guitar) and John Kidger (drummer and backing vocals), met at college and after a few rehearsals at Berry Hill Park started a new chapter together.

Lead guitarist, Neal, said making new album ‘In These Uncertain Times’ is just the beginning of something special.

“We recorded the album at a couple of local studios all off our own back. We had a great time doing it and what’s even better we now have our UK tour to follow this summer.

“It is just the beginning of something special,” Neal said.

The band will be kick-starting their tour in May and travelling around the UK, starting in Birmingham before heading to Scotland and back down all throughout the summer.

Neal added:“With the tour coming up it is going to be non stop and we are really excited to get our music out there.

“There is a lot of good bands on the scene in Mansfield kicking off again at the moment so it’s tough competition but we are confident people are going to enjoy our music and just cannot wait to get started. I think we stand out from other bands because we add blues into the music.”

Influenced by the likes of The Who and Led Zeppelin, Starscreen recorded their new album at the Old Library Studio and Electric Bear Studios in Mansfield.
