Plenty of concerts for fans of Cantamus choir to enjoy

A busy Christmas lies ahead for the girls of the popular Cantamus choir over the next few weeks.

Some have as many as eight events at which they will sing, three of them private closed functions and four they have organised themselves.

Last year’s Christmas Fayre was very successful, and this year it is hoped even more supporters will come to find gifts and enjoy the day at St Mark’s Church Hall, Mansfield, on Saturday.

The event will run from 10am-4pm and then the choir will be in St Mark’s Church, singing popular seasonal music for an hour. Lots of craft items made or sourced by the girls’ parents and friends will be for sale and refreshments will also be available. Admission is free.

Only a handful of tickets are still available for the Thoresby Riding Stables Victorian evening on December 7 but there is time to book for the Palace Theatre on Sunday, December 14, when both choirs will feature in a programme which will include a selection from musicals - the Training Choir has chosen Annie and the senior choir Kismet this time.

There are also some tickets left for the Southwell Minster performance on December 20, and St Mark’s Church, Mansfield, on December 21, but hurry as these will go fast.

Both of these concerts will be different, and St Mark’s will be lit by candlelight to create that special atmosphere.
