Rat Pack ready to swing into town

Mansfield Palace Theatre is gearing up to welcome the “Purveyors of Cool” when the Rat Pack Vegas Show Spectacular swings into town on Sunday 16th February.

Music from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis jnr are remembered in a tribute production which continues to be a success all over the world.

Live throughout and with a highly-rated orchestra, the Vegas Showgirls add a touch of glamour.

Among the classic numbers to be given an airing are Come Fly With Me, Under My Skin, Mr Bojangles, Lady Is A Tramp, That’s Amore, Mack The Knife and Sway.

The Mansfield audience will be invited to take a trip back in time to vintage 1960s Las Vegas hip and cool with a timeless soiree that has won acclaim from the BBC and theatrical newspaper The Stage.

The show first started in 2002 when Wayne Kennedy performed a solo gig for just 11 people in Staffordshire, but demand quickly grew for a larger production.

It moved stateside in 2004 with sell-out dates in casino venues before performances followed in other countries including Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, Spain and the Czech Republic.

Kennedy now portrays Martin in the current line-up with Roman Marek taking on the role of Sinatra and former Manchester City footballer Jim Whitley playing Davis Junior.

The Palace show swill start at 7pm and finishes around 9.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £20 and for more details call the theatre on 01623 633133.
