Folk aces to go Live and Local

Acclaimed roots band Mumbo Jumbo will bringing their unique blend of folk and blues to Long Eaton on Saturday, March 14.

Fresh from playing a series of major festivals, Mumbo Jumbo will play St John’s Church Hall as part of the Live and Local programme, which brings high quality live performances at affordable prices to community venues across the Midlands.

Three-piece band Mumbo Jumbo play eclectic, acoustic piano-based music with close harmonies. Their album, Life of Riley, had a fantastic reception from the critics and audiences. The band were recently nominated for the British Blues Awards and are famed for their lively audience interaction and for bringing the fun back into live performance.

Tickets are available from Anderson’s Fine Foods (Long Eaton & Breaston) and the box office on 0115 972 1549. The show will start at 7.30p.m.

The Revd Philip Waller from St John’s, said “We are really excited to be hosting Mumbo Jumbo. As well as being talented musicians, they are renowned for their rapport with the audience and it’s sure to be a great night.”

He added: “The great thing about the Live & Local scheme is that it brings top class performers into small, friendly, community settings. Instead of having to go to Nottingham or Derby, you can hear great music here in Long Eaton”.
