Murder and more in thriller season

Summer temperatures may be rising but there will be a distinct chill in the air when the Theatre Royal Nottingham’s classic thriller season starts later this month.

The 2014 Colin McIntyre Classic Thriller Season promises four weeks of murder, intrigue mystery and first class entertainment from 28th July until 23rd August.

Stranded in the middle of nowhere, a group of travellers hear tales of ‘The Ghost Train’.

Is there really a phantom train, or are there more sinister, earthly forces at work?

This is followed by comedy thriller Shadow of the Ghost, by Nicholas Ridley and Chris Ponka, from 4th to 9th August, which cleverly leads on from the first week’s play by using it within the next one.

When the Lemon Tree Players decided to present a production of Arnold Ridley’s famous thriller ‘The Ghost Train’, little did they realise that they themselves would be wrapped up in a murder mystery to rival that of any fictitious plot.

After Howard’s wife, Joanna, has committed a fatal shooting, he admits to being responsible.

However, how blameless can anyone ever be?

Finally the season will close with Brian Clemens’ Murder Weapon, from 18th - 23rd August.

At first, the murder of Paul Tulliver appears to be an open and shut case. But, as the police investigate the murder, it becomes apparent that all is not as it seemed.
