There will be four, hour-long audition workshops on Wednesday, August 24, between 6pm and 10pm at Derby Theatre’s rehearsal space on Green Lane in Derby.

Auditionees will be required to sing and learn a small piece of movement during the workshop, but do not need to prepare anything in advance. Comfortable clothing for the audition is required and those auditioning will be asked to make their way directly to Green Lane for their audition.

Sweeney Todd community member rehearsals will run from August 30 until September 24 in the evenings and possibly on some weekend dates. Community performers will also need to be available to attend some daytime technical and dress rehearsals during the production week, September 26-30.

Director Daniel Buckroyd and the theatre will recruit a small pool of community actors so not everyone will need to be available for every performance, but the director and company are interested in working with people who are very flexible, have good availability and are very committed to the production. Community performer roles are unpaid, but a small amount of free tickets will be offered as a thank you gesture. Book an audition slot on 01332 593939.

If you have any questions about the auditions please email [email protected] or call 01332 593944.
