Wet Wet Wet announce Blue as special guests for upcoming Greatest Hits Tour

Blue, one of the UK’s favourite bands, are set to join Wet Wet Wet on their forthcoming Greatest Hits Tour this December, which stops off at Capital FM Arena Nottingham on 13 December 2013.

Speaking about Blue joining the tour, Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow said: “Blue are great and we’re really pleased that they’ve accepted our invitation to join us on the tour, the fans are going to get a fantastic night out.”

Drummer Tommy Cunningham added: “The success of Blue speaks for itself and they’ve had plenty of hits, so with our own set also being greatest hits based, audiences are in for a real show.”

Blue said: “We have been big fans of Wet Wet Wet ever since “Love Is All Around” and we are really excited to be joining them on this tour. Look out for all the classic Blue hits as well as some brand new songs from our new album Roulette.”

Blue, whose studio album Roulette rocketed into the top ten of the midweek charts, are no doubt one of the most successful British acts of the last decade. The band, made up of Lee Ryan, Antony Costa, Duncan James and Simon Webbe have toured virtually every country in the world, performing and recording with the likes of Sir Elton John and Stevie Wonder.

Wet Wet Wet burst onto the scene in 1987 and have an incredible back catalogue of songs including three UK No. 1’s – ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ (1988); ‘Goodnight Girl’ (1991); and ‘Love Is All Around’ (1994), the Glasgow lads have made an incredible impact with their music over the last twenty six years and are ready to hit the road and tour again.

The band, Graeme Clark, Tommy Cunningham, Neil Mitchell and Marti Pellow have sold in excess of 15 million singles and albums to date and have featured in the UK official singles and album charts for an immense 508 weeks.

Wet Wet Wet have played to more than four million people in over 25 countries around the world. They set a record by playing ten sold out shows at Glasgow’s SECC in 1995, when they were officially the most popular live act in the UK - out-selling the Rolling Stones who were also on tour that year.

In 2012 Wet Wet Wet returned to Glasgow Green for a sold out spectacular 25th anniversary concert dubbed ‘Back In The Park’ and gave fans a glimpse of what to expect on the Greatest Hits tour and proved once again why their long standing reputation is rightfully still flying high with the best of them!
