Wilde night out at the theatre

European Arts Company present The Picture of Dorian Gray on Saturday, October 31, from 7.30pm, from Derby’s Guildhall Theatre.

Written by Oscar Wilde, it has been adapted by Merlin Holland and John O’Connor.

The play is timed to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the publication of Wilde’s only novel in 1890.

Set in the decadent world of Victorian London, a beautiful young man called Dorian Gray becomes infatuated by the exquisite portrait that Basil Hallward has painted of him. He makes a Faustian pact that he will remain forever young while the picture grows old.
