Pubs in Hucknall and Bulwell getting ready to welcome back customers

Beer will be flowing and tills will be ringing again this weekend as pubs welcome back customers after more than three months of lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Super Saturday on July 4, sees the lifting of several government-imposed quarantine measures which enables sectors of the hospitality industry, including pubs, to reopen their doors.

Licensees across Hucknall and Bulwell have been busy getting their premises ready for the big day when many hostelries will be open for business at 10am.

A spokesman from H2O Bar and Lounge in High Street, Hucknall, said: “We have been extremely busy for the last few days putting measures in place to try and ensure the safety of everyone that would like to visit us.

“As a smaller venue we only have a certain amount of tables, we will be taking reservations if you would like to book with us as we don’t want any one to be disappointed but if you do turn up and we have a table for you then you won’t be turned away.

“Due to government guidelines we will be providing table service, so if you do join us please do not come to the bar to order or bring glasses back.

“Just have a seat and we’ll sort everything for you.

“We are very excited to see everyone, from a safe distance that is.

“Thank you all for your support and we hope we see you soon.”

Also re-opening is the Nabb Inn on Nabbs Lane, Hucknall, on July 6.

A spokesman said: “We have never been happier to say that you can now book to join us from Ju ly 6.

“As we look forward to opening our doors, your safety is at the forefront of our minds, and so we encourage you to book before you visit to avoid disappointment.

“ Welcome back.”

However not all the pubs in the area will be re-opening this weekend.

A statement on the Half Moon Faebook page said: “It’s been a difficult decision for us to remain closed for now.

“With the guidance from the government and mitigation’s to implement, we’ve decided to remain closed while we comply with the new requirements and keep everyone safe.

“Our team is disappointed and, honestly, can’t wait to get back to work and see all your faces.”
