Firm secures topindustry standard

Lexcel is developed specifically for the legal profession and is a recognised accreditation scheme for law firms and in-house legal departments that gives assurance that a practice meets high client care and business management standards.

To gain and retain Lexcel accreditation, practices must first undergo a rigorous initial application and assessment process, with re-accreditation only after being assessed again.

Managing Partner Mark Slade said: “We are very proud to have retained Lexcel through the ongoing development of our systems and the hard work of our staff, but ultimately, it is our clients who are the main beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, the firm has become a corporate sponsor of a Mansfield teacher Andy Callaghan-Wetton who is aiming to run 1,000 miles in one year for Macmillan Cancer Support.

He’s currently reached 838 miles, but should complete the challenge two months ahead of schedule in mid-March when he takes part in the Retford Half Marathon.

He’ll keep going though as he is in training for the London Marathon and so expects to reach a total of 1,300 miles at the end.

A dad-of-two, Andy is the deputy head teacher at Wynndale Primary School, in Mansfield.

He said: “We all know the statistics. At some point in our lives many of us will be affected directly or indirectly by cancer.

“I’m just doing my bit to raise awareness and much-needed funds. There’s been a great response on Facebook, Twitter and elsewhere but I really would ask people to dig deep and sponsor me - it’s often dark, wet and cold when I’m out running so to see more funds pouring in would help to keep me motivated.”
