Hucknall and Bulwell pubs need your support in the sunshine

The latest lockdown easing measures mean drinkers are allowed back to pubs but are only able to sit outside in beer gardens until the next step on the government’s roadmap to recovery is implemented on May 17.

But with the weather set fair for the coming days, what could be better than a pint in a beer garden in the spring sunshine?

And in the process, you’ll be helping the pubs and hospitality sector start to get back on its feet after the toughest of years.

Andrew Ludlow, secretary of the Nottingham branch of CAMRA, said: “It’s really now up to the public to back their pubs and get back to their local.”

Several pubs are currently operating with reduced or restricted hours and people may have to pre-book tables in advance.

And, as ever, people are asked to respect the rules in place to ensure both staff and customers stay safe.

This was underlined by Hucknall bar Damo’s on its Facebook as it spoke up on behalf of the collective group of pubs, bars and clubs in Hucknall.

It said: “All venues have put in the necessary measures to keep you, our valued customers, as safe as we possibly can when opening our doors to you.

“Pubs will be different for a while.

"Each venue will differ due to size, staffing, opening hours but please we kindly ask, regardless of which venue you visit to respect our staff and venues.

“Please be mindful, respectful and compliant with ongoing changes and guidelines we have to follow for everyone's safety as our businesses are far from what they were when we closed back in March last year.

“We kindly ask you have patience and be compassionate when using our services or in our venues.”
