Here's where Hucknall and Bulwell folk can their vital Covid booster jabs against new Omicron variant

As the Government ramps up even further the Covid-19 booster programme as the Omicron variant continues to spread, jabs are currently being offered at several walk-in sites.

In Hucknall, Tesco Pharmacy on Ashgate Road, Rolls Royce Leisure and Nabbs Lane Pharmacy are all offering booster jabs at various times, as is Riverside in Bulwell.

The main larger site for Hucknall and Bulwell is Forest Recreation Ground which is on the tram route for both areas.

Booster jabs are also available at King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Mansfield Vaccination Centre on Chesterfield Road in Mansfield and Queen’s Medical Centre, although the latter is for appointments only.

Sites are increasing their booster jab ouput in the light of the Government’s desire to get as many people as possible boosted before what Prime Minister Boris Johnson described as a ‘tidal wave of Omicron’ hits the UK in the coming weeks.

The online booking system currently operating a queueing system due to demand from people wanting to get their jabs.

Sajid Javid MP (Con), the heath secretary, urged everyone who is eligible to ‘play their part’ and get their Covid-19 booster vaccine, as he warned that the country is ‘once again in a race between the vaccine and the virus’.

Scientists say two doses of vaccine are not enough to combat the new Omicron variant but getting a third booster jab increases people’s chances of avoiding becoming seriously ill with infection by up to 75 per cent.
