Shacklocks add to property team

MANSFIELD-based solicitors Shacklocks are showing their strength in the market with the appointment of solicitor Susan Thomas to lead their property team.

After qualifying in 1989, Susan began her career working in private practice in Nottingham and Leicester, before spending several years in local government.

In 2003 Susan moved back into private practice with MacLaren Britton, Nottingham, where she dealt with commercial property and development and supervised their residential conveyancing.

Susan has already gained experience of working in a Lexcel accredited firm, and recently assisted in MacLaren Britton’s successful application for the Quality Conveyancing Scheme.

She said: “This is a very exciting opportunity for me to use my skills and expertise in such an established and well regarded firm.

“I am looking forward to being part of a progressive and innovative team here at Shacklocks, and to furthering their provision of quality specialist property and public sector advice accessible within the local areas as well as further afield.”

Managing Partner, Marion Vesey said the appointment would strengthen their current team.

She said: “With the addition of Susan to our team of Lynne Lawson in Mansfield and Nick Elliot and Mike Taylor in Belper, we are extending our already thriving property department who all deliver knowledge and expertise that we can be truly proud of and which few firms in our locality offer.

“We intend to maintain and grow in this area, offering the people of Mansfield and the surrounding area real value for money and quality legal services on their doorstep.”

Shacklocks added that the addition of Susan to the team at Shacklocks, combining her knowledge of planning and procurement with Shacklocks’ dedication to local residents and businesses, the property department is set to be stronger than ever.
