Huthwaite man is offering Nottinghamshire folk the chance to learn knife and axe throwing skills - and watch the ‘Spring Fling’ competition, where the best in the knife-throwing world will be honing their skills in time for the World Championships in August.

Hide AdThe event is taking place at the Woodend Farm Complex, where owner Daniel Mosley will be running the special workshops.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to the Spring Fling on Sunday.
“I will be competing myself, but if the workshops are really popular, I won’t have the time to compete as I’ll be running the workshops myself.

Hide Ad“We run workshops every Wednesday for regulars, and we always welcome newcomers too, and we’ll help to train them up so they can go on to be as good as they want to be.”
Daniel’s father was a member of a shooting society and he developed his own passion for knife throwing 15 years ago.
He is a fully signed-up member of the Knife, Axe, Tomahawk Throwing Association UK.

Hide AdDaniel added: “I came from a shooting background. I dropped it off through my teen years, but I started back up 15 years ago and got hooked, so that’s when I opened the Woodend Farm Complex.
“It is classed as a sport, but it doesn’t have any governing body recognition as yet.
“The knifes we throw have no working edge on them, they are totally dull, with only the point needed to stick in to the target, so you could not cut with them.”

Hide AdWhen the Knife and Axe Throwing World Championships come to Woodend Farm Complex this August, it will be only the second time the competition has been held in Europe.
Last year, competitors from 12 different nations were in action in Callac, France. These nations included Italy, Russia, Switzerland or the Czech Republic.
Woodend Farm Complex also run airgun shooting and archery and crossbow shooting in their target sport range.
