Eden Hall Day Spa more than ticks those boxes, offering a beautiful and calming location to retreat to that though just down the road, could be a million miles away.

I visited the luxury venue, near Newark, one summer’s evening for the official launch of a new menu of treatments that use products from world-renowned skincare brand, Aromatherapy Associates. More than 50 guests attended the Aromatherapy Associates arrival party, which offered us the chance to sample one of four taster treatments - the Intensely Nourishing Hair Treatment, Instant Eye Repair, Taste of Aroma Facial or a Taste of Muscle Release.

After enjoying champagne and canapés, we were introduced to the brand’s global head of sales, Louise Riby, who told us about the philosophy behind Aromatherapy Associates.

Their products harness the power of essential oils and active botanicals, creating innovative skincare solutions with real therapeutic benefits for beautiful, healthy and glowing skin. Sounds good.

Nerys Chell, Eden Hall’s managing director, also spoke about what a welcome addition the brand is to the already impressive list of treatments that the spa offers.

It was then time to be pampered. I opted for the hair treatment and after going through my needs with the therapist, she used an oil known for its de-stressing and relaxing qualities. It smelt wonderful.

In the short time the taster lasted, I was whisked away to a parallel universe of peace, any tension being dissipated away as my scalp and neck were massaged. It was bliss and I would definitely be tempted to book a spa day at Eden Hall so I could experience the full works.

Speaking afterwards, Nerys Chell said: “What a great way to launch Aromatherapy Associates at the spa and start the beginning of what we believe will be a long-lasting relationship with the brand.
