But fire crews in Nottinghamshire have warned kinky couples to ‘play safe’ to avoid any red-faced 999 calls.

A spokesperson for the fire service said; “Make sure you have a key nearby if you are using handcuffs. And take safety precautions to limit the amount of possible accidents.”

This comes after London Fire Brigade said it had been called out to 393 incidents involving handcuffs or rings.

The film, based on the novel by EL James, has been described as a “mummy-porn romance” and follows an affair between student Anastasia Steele and billionaire Christian Grey.
