Once home to the notorious romantic poet Lord Byron, the visitor attraction is recruiting for a number of voluntary positions.

A spokesman said: “We have a small team of committed volunteers that we hope to expand.

Volunteers help enhance the visitors experience to the abbey in a variety of ways from meeting and greeting the public, assisting with family friendly activities and events to helping out in the beautiful gardens.

“Through volunteering with us you will meet new people and make new friends, increase your confidence and gain new skills and have a fun and enjoyable experience.”
