Age UK Nottingham & Nottinghamshire launch their Age UK Notts membership

Age UK Notts Membership offers a range of fantastic benefits to anybody who wishes to join and is open to adults across Nottingham or Nottinghamshire. Members will receive deals and discounts at local restaurants, garages, tourist attractions, gyms and much more, together with access to a broad range of free and subsidised activities, including guided walks, Nordic walking, dancing, coffee mornings, trips, singing, Scrabble, courses, swimming lessons and crafts, to name but a few!

Members will also receive a quarterly magazine direct to their door and a monthly bulletin with up-dates on activities and discounts. A “Members Only” area on the Age UK Notts website is also being developed.

Di Trinder, Executive Officer (Services) for Age UK Notts said: “Membership aims to be open to as many people as possible, and we will, therefore, offer support to those people who may be lacking in confidence. For instance, if someone is bereaved or lonely and would like to meet friends to enjoy time with – Membership could help with this”.

Age UK Notts held consultation events in May this year which gave important feedback to understand what people may want from Membership.

Di Trinder added: “Those who attended these events gave very positive feedback with one person saying that they will be retiring in a couple of years and were worried how they will spend their days. They are now looking forward to trying new things and making new friends”
