Appeal to find man who stripped naked on a train

British Transport Police (BTP) officers want to speak to a man who stripped naked on a train and assaulted a member of rail staff who challenged him about his behaviour.

The incident happened on the 11.10pm Nottingham to Leicester service on Saturday, 30th May.

Pc Ashley Wynder said: “Passengers on the service alerted staff to a man walking through the train’s carriages naked.

“He frightened several people, including a woman and children.

“When the train arrived at Leicester, a guard challenged the man and told him to wait for police to attend.

“The man became aggressive forcing his way past the guard and fleeing the station.”

Officers have analysed CCTV and circulated images of a man who they believe can help with their enquiries on police intelligence networks, and are now asking for the public’s help.

PC Wynder: “This was an unsavoury incident. The man involved made several inappropriate gestures towards a woman on the train, and his actions were also witnessed by children.

“Perhaps he thought his actions were funny, but to those on the train they were intimidating and unpleasant.

“He also assaulted a member of staff. We need to find him. I think the man in the picture will be able to help. Please tell us who he is.”
