An appeal has been launched to recover a motor scooter which was stolen from the back of a house on Nottingham Road in Hucknall on Wednesday July 22.

The owner of the scooter was asleep during the raid but he believes the Aprilla SR Motard 125 scooter was taken from the back garden sometime between 11pm and 11.30pm.

The owner, who prefers not to be named, said: “I loved that bike and would drive it every day.

“I just had it serviced last week - it was the bike’s first service - it was brand spanking new. I had just passed the 1,000 miles mark and was just breaking it in.

“I have had a few bikes in the past - but as soon as I got this I was in love.”

He bought the £2,300 in April on a payment plan.

Along with the bike, his helmet, a coat, bike keys and wallet were also taken. He said: “My heart dropped. Everything has gone. I have nothing to my name except my phone and my clothes.”

The bike’s registration number is FP15 0ZD.
