Mum Ashleigh Ridley said the Apollo Expander bike was taken in the early hours from their garden on Leeds Road, Shireoaks.

Ashleigh said: “The bike is my son’s absolute pride and joy and he has rode it everyday since he got it just a few months ago for his seventh birthday.

“He went outside this morning with his helmet on to find it had been stolen.

“We have informed the police and are now hoping to get it out there for people to see, so hopefully they will realise the heartbreak such acts can cause.”

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said the bike is believed to have been stolen between 2am and 9.45am.

It is described as a green Apollo Expander with 20” wheels.
