Councillors have agreed to scrap the reports telling people about their activities in the community.
Members of Ashfield District Council voted to get rid of the community involvement reports last month.
Council leaders have said that the reports were being used by some members for ‘overtly political purposes’.
However, independent councillor Ray Buttery questioned why they were being discontinued: “How do I let people know what we are doing?”
His comments were echoed by another independent councillor, Ann Patrick, who said:“There are many people who speak to me after reports have gone in.”
