Ashfield: I’m A Celebrity-style farewell for Specsavers’ Lisa

AN I’m A Celebrity-style bushtucker trial awaited departing store manager Lisa Redfurn on leaving her role at a Sutton opticians to take up a new challenge in Australia.

She was invited to sample a taste of things to come down under - literally - with a plate of giant mealworms, maggots and worms.

Lisa, who has been at Specsavers in Ildewells Shopping Centre for 14 years, was also tasked with trying to play the didgeridoo!

‘We wanted to give Lisa a send off she’d remember,” said Nigel Davidson, store director. “She embraced the challenge and we’re confident that she’ll settle in well into her new home.

‘Lisa has been an integral member of the team for so long, that we were all really sorry to see her leave. But this is a fantastic opportunity and we wish her every success for the future.”

Lisa will continue to work for Specsavers on the other side of the globe, taking up a position as store director in Canberra.

Carly Wright, who has been with the award-winning Sutton branch for more than 10 years, is taking over Lisa’s role as store manager.
