Jobseekers in the Ashfield area have the chance to learn new ways of overcoming the barriers to employment at a free event taking place during June.
Steps 4 Success is a six-hour course which aims to build confidence and provide motivation for the unemployed.
It is being provided over two sessions at the Kirkby Work Club on Friday 14th June and Friday 21st June.
Coun Diana Meale, chairman of the economic development committee at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “Unemployment, especially if it is for sustained period, can lead to feelings of isolation and a loss of confidence, putting people into a downward spiral and making finding a job progressively difficult.
“The Steps for Success course aims to rebuild confidence and increase motivation by highlighting people’s strengths and reminding them what they have to offer to employers.”
To book a place, call Denise Stephenson, Work Club Co-ordinator at Nottinghamshire County County Council, on 07775 588 756 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The course will take place at Kirkby Library, Ashfield Precinct.
The course is being funded by the Skills Funding Agency.
Kirkby Work Club is one of seven based in libraries and set-up across Nottinghamshire by the County Council.
Work Clubs are also held at Worksop, Retford, Newark, Mansfield, Hucknall and Arnold.
An eighth work club is due to open in West Bridgford this summer.
