A BUMPER fun day planned by a Hucknall school is shaping up to meet its ambition of bringing the community together.
As previously reported in the Dispatch, the event on Saturday May 19 is the brainchild of pupils and staff at National Church Of England Academy on Annesley Road.
And with just a week to go, attractions are being added to the line-up every day.
They range from badminton, indoor rowing and table tennis to dance presentations, live music and an electronic ‘beat the goalie’ football game, which will all be on offer at the school’s campus.
Hucknall community organisations involved include 1803 (Hucknall) Squadron of the Air Training Corps (ATC), St John Ambulance, Under One Roof, Carers In Hucknall, the Oceans Of Fun day nursery and Hucknall Tourism and Regeneration Group.
Other attractions will include face-painting, a tombola and 20 table-top stalls, while visits by the fire service, police and ambulance service will offer safety and crime-prevention advice.
Sporting challenges will give students the chance to test their skills against teams made up of parents.
The whole event is free of charge and is designed to appeal to visitors of all ages. Any money raised will go towards school funds.
